Market Season: May – October
Market Day: Wednesday
Market Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Setup times 6:00 am – 8:00 a.m. All aisle ways are to be clear by 8:00 a.m.
The purchase of a stall/space constitutes an agreement by the vendor to comply with all rules and regulations. Muskegon Flea Market reserves the right to revoke any reservation and evict violators without a refund.
- All spaces are to be paid prior to setup.
- Reservations are held until 7:00 a.m. Spaces not occupied by 7:00 a.m. will be re-rented to others on a first come-first served basis.
- Official Market hours are 8:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
All vendors are required to arrive by 8:00 am and stay through at least 1:30 pm, preferably 3:00 pm.
We ask that vendors arrive on time and stay through the end time as these are the hours marketed to customers. If the market is closed before 3:00 pm, many customers become frustrated and do not return.
- Your dated receipt is required for admission the day you want to sell. All shade & coverage must be sufficiently weighted and safe.
- State health laws prohibit any pets or live animals in the Market with the exception of tagged service dogs.
- All aisle ways are to be kept clear. Merchandise is to be kept within the stall space behind the white line, including signage and vendor vehicle. Stalls are to be reasonably attractive and set up in a manner fair to neighboring vendors. The 6 inch ledge in front of the covered stalls is not to be used for vendor product display.
- Sales area must be cleared before you depart. Do not use the trash cans provided for customer use! Dumpsters are provided for vendor use. If Market Staff has to clean up when you leave, you will be fined a $10.00 fee. This includes cigarette butts. (See #12)
- All processed food must be licensed by the Michigan Dept. of Agriculture and proof of
commercial insurance policy is required. - All sales of produce must be approved prior to reserving stalls. Produce vendors must provide appropriate documentation, including liability insurance.
- All sales of perennials, shrubs, root stock and bulbs must be from a licensed nursery. A Michigan Dept. of Agriculture plant dealer’s license must be obtained.
- Devices requiring electricity must be plugged directly into the wall receptacle or an approved extension cord. (An approved extension cord is a heavy-duty type.)
- Muskegon Farmers/Flea Market is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is not permitted at the Flea Market.
- Vendors are responsible for their children. All children must be kept under control and at your stall/space unless accompanied by an adult.
- Vendors are expected to dress appropriately. This includes but is not limited to the fact that all vendors must wear shoes, shirt, and no offensive signage on clothing nor clothing which is clearly offensive to others. Offensive signage on merchandise will be determined by management and must be kept out of sight.
- No person shall beg, loiter, solicit, sell or attempt to sell, display, or demonstrate any goods, merchandise, real estate or animals, not place any poster, advertisement or billboards on the Market premises without prior approval of the Market Manager.
- Use of abusive language (profane, racial, ethnic, etc.) will not be tolerated on the Market and may be cause for dismissal. General courtesy pertaining to neighboring stalls is expected. This includes the playing of music.
- Failure to comply with the Market rules may be cause for dismissal.
- Overt sales tactics and “hawking’ are not allowed on the Market. Walking sales are prohibited.
- Market sellers must comply with all identification, licensing and grading applications, as required by law.
- Tables are to be covered/protected from product. Vendor equipment/tables must be removed at end of Market day. Storage space is not available.
Site rental fees (per day charge):
Covered stall (corner location) $10.00
- Covered stall (non-corner) $9.00
- Asphalt (paved surface) $8.00
- Please use only the space you have paid for, do not encroach on a neighboring space even when empty.
- Reservations are prepaid only.
Sorry, no refunds are given for rain days. We are open in the rain.
How to Reserve a specific location:
If a vendor wishes to reserve a specific Market site, there are 3 options available.
A. Prepaid Sites: vendors may request to prepay for the entire season so that a spot will be automatically reserved for the season. This requires a contract and full payment in advance.
B. Reservation Agreement: if a vendor wishes to reserve a site but would rather pay their fee on a monthly basis, they will be required to fill out a reservation agreement.
C. Daily Fee: vendor can pay for a site each day they come into the Market.
- Covered stall (corner location) $10.00 10’ X 20’ space with 3’ deep table
- Covered stall (non-corner location) $9.00 10’ X 20’ space with 3’ deep table
- Asphalt site (paved surface) $8.00 10’ X 20’ space + extra parking space if available
Prohibited items:
- No firearms (working or not) ammunition, explosives, flammables or chemicals
- No daggers or switchblades
- No live animals
- No trademarked/counterfeit merchandise
- No pornographic material
- No homemade baked goods
- No walking sales
- No games of chance, raffles, lottery, or auctions.
- No political, religious, or solicitant matter or handbills.
- No produce or perennial sales without prior approval from market staff
